What I am Currently Listening To

Second Date Update Podcast

By: KSCS
If you have ever listened to Hawkeye in the morning then this may seem familiar. I find these to be hilarious and they are all less than 6 minutes, so if you have a short commute or just have a hard time with longer podcast, you may try listening to this one. The show is a segment on their morning show where people who went on a first date but never made it to a second call in to try and find out why. They call the person and you get to listen in to the other person's side of the story, chaos tends to ensue.

Teacher's Pet

By: The Australian
This Australian crime podcast will have you screaming "are you kidding me?" as you listen.
Here is the episode notes for the trailer: "A star footballer. His school girl lover. A wife who vanishes. The Australian's Hedley Thomas digs deep into a cold case which has been unsolved for 36 years, uncovering startling evidence." This story seem to impossible, hear from her friends and the recounts of her last days. Just wait till you hear what the husband did.

Crimes of Passion

By: Parcast Network
Real love stories that turned into crimes of passions. With looks into the phycology of the criminal and to the relationship dynamics before killer and victim. Not all are romantic relationship, some include friendships and even family. These episodes come out every Wednesday and include a huge variety to listen to now. If you ever wondered how someone could just snap and kill someone they love, you may listen in to Crimes of Passion.

My Favorite Murder

By: Exactly Right
Okay. This is a huge favorite of mine, from the very first episode I was hooked. MFM is a comedy. Yes, you did read that right. Hosted by two hilarious, relatable women. This podcast will have you laughing so hard. They share stories and their honest opinion. Fair warning this does have language and may not be for everyone.

Sinisterhood

By: Christie Wallace and Heather McKinney
This one is a fun one for two different reasons for me: 1. This show is a Dallas based podcast and 2. Heather McKinney is a lawyer that practices in Dallas. If you don't know, my answer to the age old question 'what do you want to be when you grow up?' it happens to be a lawyer. These two are hilarious, again this one would fall into the 'not really appropriate' category but if you're 18 give it a try. If it's a creepy, crime, or just flat out odd topic they've probably covered it.

Favorites That You Should Give a Chance

Dr. Death

By: Wondery
These next descriptions will be pulled from the actual podcast websites. I want to fully explain these podcast because they are really good. Some, like this one are easily in my top five of podcasts. If there is any you go and actually listen to please let it be this one! "Dr. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications. And all they had to protect them was a system ill equipped to stop the madness."

Over My Dead Body

By: Wondery
"In "Tally," the first season of OVER MY DEAD BODY, Dan and Wendi are two good-looking attorneys whose wedding is featured in the New York Times. But when this "perfect" couple falls apart, it leads to a bad breakup, a worse divorce, and a murder case involving a menagerie of high-priced lawyers and unexpected co-conspirators. From Wondery, the team that brought you "Dirty John" and "Dr. Death," "Tally" is a story that says as much about live and marriage as it does about justice, revenge, and the lengths some people will go to get what they want."

Happy Face

By: iHeartRadio
"For Melissa Moore, 1995 was a nightmare. That's the year the teenager learned her father, Keith Hunter Jesperson, was a serial killer. It's also the year Melissa Moore's doubt spiral began: When you look like your father, and you share his intelligence and charisma, how do you know you're not a psychopath, too? Happy Face is the story of Keith Hunter Jesperson, his brutal crimes, and the cat and mouse game he played with detectives and the media. But it's also the story of the horrific legacy he gifted his children. Join Melissa Moore as she investigates her father's crimes, reckons with the past, and wades through her darkest fears as she hunts for a better future."

Up and Vanished

By: Tenderfoot TV
"Atlanta filmmaker Payne Lindsey of Tenderfoot TV originally envisioned Up and Vanished as a true-crime documentary. Lindsey selected a missing-person case from his home state, Georgia, and embarked on a journey as an amateur investigator. After starting his researching initial interviews, he decided to present the project in audio form as a podcast, Season 1 of Up and Vanished explored the 2005 disappearance of beauty queen and high school teacher Tara Grinstead from her home in Ocilla, Georgia. The cold case was the largest case file in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's history, with no arrest in 11 years. Th podcast quickly drew attention, both in South Georgia and nationwide. Reviewing old leafs and uncovering new ones, Up and Vanished quickly expanded from a planned six-episode season to a final count of 24 episodes with numerous bonus episodes. As the people of Ocilla began talking about the case again, new leads and stories emerged. In February 2017, the GBI arrested two suspects for Grinstead's murder. Up and Vanished will continue to provide updates on the no-longer-cold case as a criminal trial proceeds in 2018. A second season of Up and Vanished covering a completely different true crime story, will debut on August 20, 2018."
